TROPIC - Time Resolved Optical Transmission Intensity Characterization

TROPIC - Time Resolved Optical Transmission Intensity Characterization: In order to characterize modulators, a novel method has been developed that allows for spectral resolved measurements of the optical transmission spectrum for arbitrary time intervals during the modulation loop. This method, comparable to the FROG (frequency resolved optical gating) measurement in ultrafast optics, requires only standard laboratory equipment as it is available in typical optical lab environment. In contrast to DC measurements this method offers also information in respect to the temporal dynamic behavior of the modulator.
