Research is currently pursued in the following areas:

• spectroscopy-based realtime diagnostics (e.g. of accelerator-based light sources)
• material science (e.g. Dirac materials, functional nanofilms or planetary analog materials)
• development of tailormade (laser-) spectroscopic techniques and instrumentation (e.g. compact "on chip" solutions or innovative ultra-fast laser spectroscopies)
