Coherent small angle scattering from magnetic domains - a single 25 fs FLASH pulse at the Co M-edge was used to generate this scattering pattern.

Pulses of coherent x-rays with durations of 25 femtoseconds can be generated at the free electron laser FLASH at DESY, Hamburg. We develop schemes for single shot fs-stroboscopic imaging,  to obain image-sequences via split & delay and to perform pump-probe experiments. We apply these techniques in particular for the study of ultrafast demagnetization.
